Welcome to the Westfield PAL Flag Football home page!
The Westfield PAL has sponsored a flag football league since 1998. This program is restricted to participants in 1st through 9th grade. There are three separate divisions: Division III for grades 1-3, Division II for grades 4-6, and Division I for grades 7-9 for the school year starting in September. Again in 2023, the Westfield PAL is also offering a girls-only program for girls in 2nd through 7th grades. Girls are welcome to play in the girls-only program or to continue to play in our traditional program, which has always been and will continue to be co-ed.
All games are played at Tamaques Park in Westfield on Saturday mornings, with the 2023 season starting on September 9 and ending on November 18th.
Division III (grades 1-3) play from 8:15 AM until 9:45 AM
Division II (grades 4-6) play from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM
Division I (grades 7-9) play from 11:45 PM until 1:00 PM (Playoffs at end of season)
Mini-camp for Grades 4th-9th will be held on Sunday, August 27th (1st-3rd players are welcomed to join and gain exposure)
A virtual draft will be held for 4th-6th and 7th-9th grades on Tuesday August 29th
Division 1 (grades 7-9) playoffs to be held on Sunday November 19th
Volunteers and coaches are urged to participate. All coaches must undergo a required background check.
Registration fee is $100.00 per player with a family limit of $300.00. Due to the popularity of our program, the program is now only open to Westfield residents, those who attend school in Westfield, or others who have played with us for 2 or more years. Registration for the 2023 season is due to close on August 20th, but on August 13th we will begin to assess a late fee of $20 per player. And finally, our program is really all about creating an environment where the kids can get involved, learn about football, experience great sportsmanship, and overall have a terrific time. Note that flag football is a non-contact sport, with no blocking, pushing, shirt-grabbing or tackling allowed. We do have an official rules document which many might find helpful. People should read these from the perspective of ensuring an emphasis on sportsmanship, fair play, and fun.
